Independence Day has come again to our great nation. Time for hot dogs, hamburgers, fireworks, parades, face painting
and getting together with family. We had a great time today in downtown Provo (historic downtown Provo that is). Every year they put on a pretty good parade filled with floats, ballons, clowns, machine gun clatter, jets and other noises meant to frighten infants and amuse all the males in the vicinity. Ethan managed to jump out into the parade at one time and ordered them to “stop!” while gesturing so with his hand. He’s a wild one for sure.
After the parade was over we ventured over to Roy & VV’s house for lunch with the aunts and uncles and cousins and grandparents. (enter hot dogs and hamburgers) . It was a relaxing afternoon there at the grandparents home. Although there was a really nasty wind storm for about an hour that ripped down a great deal of tree branches and roofing shingles.
A few days ago we managed to attend the “Stadium of Fire” at the BYU football stadium. It was great show and at one point Ethan basked in the glorious aura of Taylor Hicks (of American Idol fame and the latest Ford commercial). The fireworks were excellent, the skydivers cool and the jets need to fly over the stadium more than once for what tickets cost.
