So I’ve come face to face…wait a minute now I’m trying to be all clever and it’s turning out horrible. So I’ve faced up to the fact that I’m not as internet savvy as some out there. (yeah I will go with pun #2 it’s more subtle in a hit you in the face like Tony Soprano kind of way). I don’t network much…meaning I don’t play around on myspace but that’s more because myspace feels like it is for teenagers – something I have not been for a while though I may still act like one at times.
Facebook feels like a grownups version of myspace or maybe I’m just telling myself that so I can pretend to network on the web.
In any case Facebook does feel like a great networking tool and I’ve already seen some old classmates from high school (have yet to contact them as I don’t entirely remember them anymore). Bah I’m getting old it’s okay to forget but it’s not really okay to forget people.
I can really see how this is a useful tool in a couple of ways and I’m sure there are many more than that. First off it’s a great personal networking tool for meeting up with friends or finding old ones. Keeping in touch this way is nice and gives you a little synopsis of where one is at currently in life.
Second Facebook certainly does offer business networking capabilities that are astounding. Since I’ve just signed up I can only begin to scratch the surface of what it really means but its powerful (duh Ryan tell us something we didn’t know just by getting out of bed today).
I’ll come back to this later but I’m having fun again late at night. Time for sleepy.
